Hello all,

This National Post story, published in today's Journal under the title "Indian government accuses group of promoting violence," mentions that Interpol has denied India's request for a Red Notice for the arrest of a prominent Sikh independence activist.

More on Interpol and Bill Browder.

“Following the unexpected disappearance of Interpol president Meng Hongwei by Chinese authorities in 2018, Russian Alexander Prokopchuk, vice president, became his likely successor. However, both Bill Browder of Hermitage Capital Management and Mikhail Khodorkovsky lobbied against Prokopchuk, stating that his presidency would be like the mafia running a police organization. Browder asserted that Prokopchuk is one of Vladimir Putin's puppets and urged Canada to help expel Russia from Interpol. On 21 November 2018, Interpol elected Kim Jong-yang from South Korea as its president.”

-- from the Wikipedia article “Alexander Prokopchuk,” linked to its article “Interpol” (The quote is lightly edited).

Hello all,

You may be interested to know that Interpol Red Notices -- at least the public ones -- can be perused here: https://www.interpol.int/How-we-work/Notices/View-Red-Notices#.
Canada currently has public Red Notices out for five people.

Cheers,
Colin
